Meet the Team
Since I was little, I have loved building and making things. I love the making process: from gathering materials, to coming up with a plan, realizing that plan needed adjustments and developing a new strategy, to the end product. Design and building is something that drives me forward. I used that drive to get me through school where I earned my masters of architecture and construction management. Thoughtful design and quality craft are what I strive for on every project.

FounderI loved working as an architect but as I advanced in my career, it became clear that it would require that I spend more and more time away from home. I missed family dinners, school functions, and sports games. Spending time with family isn’t something that I want to give up but I love what I do, so I had a choice: pivot or persevere. I started Storm Hewn because it allows me to design and build to satisfy the architect within and is flexible enough such that I can be present at home.

Designer/BuilderI was defiantly one of those kids who liked the box better than the toy. As I grew up, I expanded my material selection to include wood and it has become my favorite medium. It is easy to work with, a feast for the eyes, and strong enough to park your car on. Every project I get to work on is a joy; from brainstorming, to developing an idea, and making it a reality. I love what I do.
